oxyrhynchus, Anabas Boulenger [G. A.] 1902:52, Pl. 15 (fig. 2) [Annales du Musee du Congo (Ser. Zoologie) v. 2 (fasc. 2); ref. 562] Yembe River at Banzyville, Democratic Republic of Congo, about 4°18'N, 21°11'E. Holotype (unique): MRAC 1164. See Opinion 1562 where oxyrhynchus is not conserved for purposes of priority. The specific name oxyrhynchus is a noun. •Valid as Ctenopoma oxyrhynchum (Boulenger 1902) -- (Gosse 1986:412 [ref. 6194], Vierke 1986:53 [ref. 36452], Vierke 1988:83 [ref. 36453]). •Synonym of Ctenopoma weeksii Boulenger 1896. Current status: Synonym of Ctenopoma weeksii Boulenger 1896. Anabantidae. Habitat: freshwater.
