Current status: Valid as Cocotropus dermacanthus (Bleeker 1852). Synanceiidae: Aploactininae. Distribution: Indo-West Pacific: Seychelles, Indonesia, Philippines, and Chesterfield Islands (New Caledonia). IUCN (2018): Least Concern. Habitat: marine.
