Original genus name should have been Cocotropus. •Tentatively valid as Paraploactis obbesi (Weber 1913) -- (Poss & Eschmeyer 1978:419 [ref. 6387], Poss 1999:2358 [ref. 24796], Poss in Randall & Lim 2000:606 [ref. 25122], Randall 2005:130 [ref. 28239]). •Valid as Paraploactis obbesi (Weber 1913) -- (Prokofiev 2008:308 [ref. 29592] but misspelled once as abbesi, Allen & Erdmann 2012:253 [ref. 31980], Prokofiev 2012:328 [ref. 32052], Allen & Erdmann 2024:270 [ref. 40796]). Current status: Valid as Paraploactis obbesi (Weber 1913). Synanceiidae: Aploactininae. Distribution: Eastern Indian Ocean, western Pacific: southern and eastern Indonesia, and Sulu Archipelago (Philippines). Habitat: marine.
