Current status: Valid as Cottus microstomus Heckel 1837. Cottidae. Distribution: Eastern Europe: Black Sea basin (Dniestr River system) and southern Baltic basin (Vistula River and Neman/Nemunas River basins): Poland and Lithuania. Habitat: freshwater.
