N.] 1935:61, Pl. 1 (fig. 1), Pl. 2 [Trudy Baikal'skoi limnologischeskoi stantsii = Travaux de la Station limnologique du Lac Baikal v. 6; ref. 15741] Off Listvenichnoe, depth about 700 meters, and Barjuzin Bay, depth 619 meters, southern Lake Baikal, Russia. Taliev specimens ? ZIN 32562 (1). Type catalog: Spodareva et al. 2023:246 [ref. 40445] with lectotype. Lectotype apparently selected by Sideleva 2001:68 [ref. 26181], but the specimen was not part of the original syntypes. •Valid as Abyssocottus bergianus (Taliev 1935) -- (Taliev 1955:362 [ref. 4316], Bogdanov 2023:68 [ref. 40329]). •Valid as Limnocottus bergianus Taliev 1935 -- (Berg 1949:1161 [ref. 20662], Sideleva 1982:30 [ref. 14469], Reshetnikov et al. 1997:760 [ref. 24702], Sideleva 1998:156 [ref. 23595], Sideleva 2001:68 [ref. 26181], Bogutskaya et al. 2001:47 [ref. 26178], Kontula et al. 2003:149 [ref. 26791], Sideleva 2003:18, 196 [ref. 27815], Bogutskaya & Naseka 2004:198 [ref. 28183], Goto et al. 2014:[15] [ref. 33456], Bogdanov 2017:47 [ref. 37119], Dyldin et al. 2020:116 [ref. 37569]). Current status: Valid as Limnocottus bergianus Taliev 1935. Cottidae. Distribution: North Asia: open parts of central and southern Lake Baikal (Russia). Habitat: freshwater.
