Syntypes: RMNH 6168 (some or all of 12 and holotype of Gobius phaiomelas). Appeared without distinguishing features in list in Bleeker 1849:5 [ref. 320]. •Synonym of Aulopareia unicolor (Valenciennes 1837) -- (Kottelat et al. 1993:142 [ref. 23448]). •Valid as Acentrogobius chlorostigmatoides (Bleeker 1849) -- (Zheng 1989:347 [ref. 21202], Wu in Pan et al. 1991:478 [ref. 23876], Rainboth 1996:197 [ref. 22772], Thu & Thao 2023:642 [ref. 40499] as chlosotigmatoides). •Valid as Creisson chlorostigmatoides (Bleeker 1849) -- (Chen et al. 1996:2 [ref. 22533]). •Synonym of Aulopareia unicolor (Valenciennes 1837) -- (Kottelat et al. 1993:142 [ref. 23448], Kottelat 2013:400 [ref. 32989], Larson & Jaafar 2022:508 [ref. 39363], Parenti 2021:97 [ref. 38603]). Current status: Synonym of Aulopareia unicolor (Valenciennes 1837). Gobiidae: Gobiinae. Habitat: brackish.
