Type catalog: Bauchot et al. 1991:40 [ref. 19958]. •Valid as Chonophorus stamineus (Eydoux & Souleyet 1850) -- (Maugé 1986:365 [ref. 6218] with author as Valenciennes). •Synonym of Awaous ocellaris (Broussonet 1782) -- (Wu & Ni in Kuang et al. 1986:278 [ref. 26639] with author as Valenciennes). •Synonym of Awaous guamensis (Valenciennes 1837) -- (Ataur Rahman 2003:329 [ref. 31338], Watson 1992:171 [ref. 20016], Mundy 2005:471 [ref. 28379]). •Valid as Awaous stamineus (Eydoux & Souleyet 1850) -- (Ataur Rahman 1989:304 [ref. 24860], Karmakar 2000:35 [ref. 25662], Lindstrom et al. 2012:296 [ref. 32536], Seth et al. 2023:13 [ref. 40589]).
