Paratypes: CAS 47170 [ex IU 12818] (1), FMNH 56216 (1). Type catalog: Henn 1928:66 [ref. 12305], Ibarra & Stewart 1987:56 [ref. 12367]. The genus is evidently feminine, so name changed to minuta. •Valid as Microgenys minuta Eigenmann 1913 -- (Langeani in Reis et al. 2003:144 [ref. 27061], Thomaz et al. 2015:Add. 5 [ref. 33893], DoNascimiento et al. 2017:60 [ref. 35633], Netto-Ferreira 2024:218 [ref. 40817]). Current status: Valid as Microgenys minuta Eigenmann 1913. Characidae: Stevardiinae. Distribution: South America: Cauca River basin, Colombia. Habitat: freshwater.
