H.] 1927:72 [Annals and Magazine of Natural History (Series 9) v. 20 (no. 115) (art. 8); ref. 193] Saldanha Bay, South Africa, southeastern Atlantic, tidal zone at low tide. Holotype (unique): SAM 17355. Also appeared as new in Barnard 1927:823 [ref. 194]. •Valid as Nematogobius saldanha (Barnard 1927) -- (Maugé 1986:377 [ref. 6218]). •Valid as Caffrogobius saldanha (Barnard 1927) -- (Hoese 1986:784 [ref. 5670], Miller 1990:927 [ref. 19376], Schliewen 2011:214 [ref. 31738]). Current status: Valid as Caffrogobius saldanha (Barnard 1927). Gobiidae: Gobiinae. Distribution: Southeastern Atlantic and southwestern Indian Ocean: Namibia to South Africa. Habitat: brackish, marine.
