Holotype (unique): BSMP 12025 (destroyed, seen by Koumans). Type catalog: Koumans 1940:189 [ref. 2676]. •Questionably the same as Cryptocentrus pavoninoides (Bleeker 1849) -- (Satapoomin & Winterbottom, 2002:60 [ref. 26168]). •Valid as Cryptocentrus cebuanus Herre 1927 -- (Larson in Randall & Lim 2000:636 [ref. 25122], Hutchins 2001:43 [ref. 25847], Larson & Murdy 2001:3596 [ref. 26293], Hoese & Larson 2004:168 [ref. 28074], Hoese & Larson 2006:1637 [ref. 29097], Allen & Erdmann 2012:870 [ref. 31980], Larson et al. 2013:194 [ref. 32988]). Current status: Valid as Cryptocentrus cebuanus Herre 1927. Gobiidae: Gobiinae. Distribution: Western Pacific and southeastern Indian Ocean: Indonesia, Philippines and Australia. Habitat: marine.
