meyeri, Curimatus Steindachner [F.] 1882:176 [Anzeiger der Kaiserlichen Akademie der Wissenschaften in Wien, Mathematisch-Naturwissenschaftlichen Klasse v. 19 (no. 19); ref. 20487] Río Huallaga, Amazon system, northeastern Peru. Holotype (unique): MTD F 331. Type catalog: Zarske 2003:21 [ref. 27474]. Species later illustrated and described in more detail in Steindachner 1882:11, Pl. 1 (fig. 4) [ref. 14353]. A neotype was selected by Vari 1992, but the discovery of the holotype means that the neotype selection is invalid (Art. 75.8). •Valid as Curimatella meyeri (Steindachner 1882) -- (Ortega & Vari 1986:11 [ref. 9708], Vari 1992:20 [ref. 19021], Chang & Ortega 1995:5 [ref. 24302], Vari in Reis et al. 2003:54 [ref. 27061], Barriga Salazar 2014:105 [ref. 35745], Sarmiento et al. 2014:62, 186 [ref. 35004], DoNascimiento et al. 2017:41 [ref. 35633], Silvano et al. 2020:103 [ref. 38133], Meza-Vargas et al. 2021:15 [ref. 39298]). Current status: Valid as Curimatella meyeri (Steindachner 1882). Curimatidae. Distribution: South America: Amazon River basin (Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru). Habitat: freshwater.
