Holotype: UMMZ 113514. Paratypes: (2) ?UMMZ 114486 (4). •Synonym of Astyanax fasciatus [complex] (Cuvier 1819) -- (Romero & Paulson 2001:23 [ref. 26040]). •Mention -- (Miller 2006:156 [ref. 28615]). •Synonym of Astyanax mexicanus (De Filippi 1853) -- (Espinasa et al. 2020:1 [ref. 40046], Miranda-Gamboa et al. 2023:96 [ref. 40047]). •Valid as Astyanax jordani (Hubbs & Innes 1936) -- (Espinosa Pérez et al. 1993:24 [ref. 22290], Buckup in Reis et al. 2003:110 [ref. 27061], Proudlove 2006:52 [ref. 28992], Zanata & Bertaco 2024:102 [ref. 40817]).
