Current status: Valid as Mugilogobius notospilus (Günther 1877). Oxudercidae: Gobionellinae. Distribution: Western Pacific: east coast of Queensland, Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Tonga, New Caledonia, Samoa and Solomon Islands. Habitat: freshwater, brackish, marine.
