Type catalog: Nijssen et al. 1982:100 [ref. 19236]. Lectotype selected by Larson 2010:174 [ref. 30783]. •Questionably a synonym of Redigobius leptochilus (Bleeker 1875) -- (Larson 2001:208 [ref. 25522]). •Valid as Redigobius oyensi (de Beaufort 1913) -- (Larson 2010:170 [ref. 30783], Kottelat 2013:423 [ref. 32989], Praveenraj et al. 2017:10854 [ref. 40099], Keith et al. 2021:128 [ref. 38257], Jamandre 2023:169 [ref. 40455]). Current status: Valid as Redigobius oyensi (de Beaufort 1913). Gobiidae: Gobionellinae. Distribution: Eastern Indian Ocean, western Pacific: Nicobar Islands (India), Philippines, Indonesia, Micronesia and Papua New Guinea. Habitat: marine.
