Paratypes: MMNHN 2995-97 (3), 2999-3001 (3). •Synonym of Sinogastromyzon szechuanensis (Fang 1930), but a valid subspecies -- (Li in Ding 1994:439 [ref. 21531], Zhu 1995:139 [ref. 25213]). •Valid as Sinogastromyzon hsiashiensis Fang 1931 -- (Kottelat & Chu 1988:196 [ref. 13491], Chen & Tang in Yue 2000:552 [ref. 25272], Tang et al. 2001:14 [ref. 25373], Tang & Chen 2000:9 [ref. 25445], Kottelat 2012:55 [ref. 32367], Zhang et al. 2016:167 [ref. 34477]). Current status: Valid as Sinogastromyzon hsiashiensis Fang 1931. Balitoridae. Distribution: Dongtinghu Lake, China. Habitat: freshwater.
