Holotype (unique): BMNH 1940.2.15.1. •Valid as Barbus arabicus Trewavas 1941 -- (Banister & Clarke 1977:120 [ref. 7232], Alkahem & Behnke 1983:551 [ref. 8384], Krupp 1983:579 [ref. 8320]). •Valid as Arabibarbus arabicus (Trewavas 1941) -- (Borkenhagen 2014:1180, 1195 [ref. 33432], Freyhof et al. 2020:122 [ref. 37658], Esmaeili & Hamidan 2023:207 [ref. 40377], Çiçek et al. 2024:132 [ref. 40789]). Current status: Valid as Arabibarbus arabicus (Trewavas 1941). Cyprinidae: Torinae. Distribution: Middle East: Southern Red Seabasin and internal basins (southern Saudi Arabia and Yemen). Habitat: freshwater.
