Distribution: Indo-West Pacific: Thailand, Indonesia, north to northern Vietnam and southern China, south to Papua New Guinea and northern Australia. Invasive in western Atlantic from Panama south to São Paulo (Brazil). Habitat: freshwater, brackish, marine.
