alburnus, Anodus Müller [J.] & Troschel [F. H.] 1844:83 [Archiv für Naturgeschichte v. 10 (pt 1); ref. 3070] Lake Amucu, Guyana. Lectotype: ZMB 3527 (larger specimen). Paralectotypes: ZMB 3527 (smaller specimen). Also appeared in Müller & Troschel 1845:26, Pl. 4 (fig. 3) [ref. 3071]; figure is of lectotype. Lectotype selected by Vari 1992:20 [ref. 19021]. Specific name is a noun. •Valid as Curimatella alburnus (Müller & Troschel 1844) (often seen as alburna) -- (Ortega & Vari 1986:11 [ref. 9708], Vari 1992:20 [ref. 19021], Lasso et al. 2001:96 [ref. 25928], Vari in Reis et al. 2003:53 [ref. 27061], Barriga Salazar 2014:105 [ref. 35745] as alburna, Sarmiento et al. 2014:62, 186 [ref. 35004] as alburna, DoNascimiento et al. 2017:41 [ref. 35633] as alburna, Meza-Vargas et al. 2021:15 [ref. 39298], Taphorn et al. 2022:22 [ref. 41297]). Current status: Valid as Curimatella alburnus (Müller & Troschel 1844). Curimatidae. Distribution: South America: Amazon and Tocantins River basins (Bolivia, Brazil, Ecuador, Colombia, Guyana and Peru). Habitat: freshwater.
