Type catalog: Böhlke 1953:138 [ref. 12291]. •Valid as Liparis owstoni (Jordan & Snyder 1904) -- (Sheiko 1983:19 [ref. 37041], Kido in Masuda et al. 1984:338 [ref. 6441], Lindberg & Krasyukova 1987:428 [ref. 15964], Kido 1988:189 [ref. 12287] but may be based on an abnormal specimen of L. tanakai [sic, tanakae], Sokolovskaya et al. 1998:11 [ref. 24670], Nakabo 2000:667 [ref. 25086], Nakabo 2002:667 [ref. 26001], Chernova et al. 2004:28 [ref. 27592], Chernova 2008:841 [ref. 30236], Parin et al. 2014:339 [ref. 33547], Dyldin & Orlov 2022:217 [ref. 39115]). Current status: Valid as Liparis owstoni (Jordan & Snyder 1904). Liparidae. Distribution: Northwestern Pacific: East China Sea to Sea of Japan, Pacific coast of Japan, and Tatar Strait. Habitat: marine.
