Holotype: CAS 60496 [ex IU 17693] (missing). Paratypes: CAS 60497 [ex IU 17694] (17), CAS-SU 18070 (11), MCZ 31568 (3). Type catalog: Böhlke 1953:23 [ref. 12291]. •Valid as Copella compta (Myers 1927) -- (Zarske & Géry 2001:17 [ref. 25157], Weitzman & Weitzman in Reis et al. 2003:242 [ref. 27061], Zarske & Géry 2006:45 [ref. 29030], Marinho & Menezes 2017:24 [ref. 35572], Marinho 2024:379 [ref. 40817]). Current status: Valid as Copella compta (Myers 1927). Lebiasinidae: Pyrrhulininae. Distribution: South America: upper Negro River basin, Brazil and Venezuela. Habitat: freshwater.
