Zoology v. 12 (pt 3); ref. 3634] Maldives, Indian Ocean, depth 27-44 fathoms. Lectotype: BMNH 1901.12.31.105 (largest specimen). Paralectotype: BMNH 1901.12.31.106 (1 of 2). Lectotype selected by Norman 1934:215 [ref. 6893] as the largest specimen in BMNH 1901.12.31.105-106. One specimen in BMNH 1901.12.31.106 is reidentified as Engyprosopon macrolepis (Regan 1905) by Amaoka et al. 1993:298 [ref. 22091]. •Valid as Engyprosopon filimanus (Regan 1908) -- (Hensley & Randall 1990:679 [ref. 20143], Quéro & Golani 1990:39 [ref. 15759], Hensley & Amaoka 2022:334 [ref. 40220]). Current status: Valid as Engyprosopon filimanus (Regan 1908). Bothidae. Distribution: Western Indian Ocean: Maldives endemic. Habitat: marine.
