Based on description in manuscript by Forster (Johann Reinhold Forster, 1729-1798, German explorer and naturalist of Cook's second voyage). •Valid as Arnoglossus scapha (Forster 1801) -- (Paulin et al. 1989:238 [ref. 24556], Amaoka in Amaoka et al. 1990:325 [ref. 16024], Li & Wang 1995:158 [ref. 16193], Munroe 2015:1676 [ref. 34321], Fricke et al. 2017:3 [ref. 35674], Fricke et al. 2023:3 [ref. 40065], Luo et al. 2024:9 [ref. 41630]). Current status: Valid as Arnoglossus scapha (Forster 1801). Bothidae. Distribution: Southwestern Pacific: New Zealand region. Habitat: marine.
