Holotype: IU 17674 (not at CAS in 1996). Paratypes: CAS 17946 [IU 17675] (4), MCZ 31569 (1), CAS-SU 18068 [ex IU 17675 and CAS 17946] (2). Type catalog: Böhlke 1953:25-26 [ref. 12291]. For locality correction see Myers 1934:43 [ref. 24240]. •Valid as Othonocheirodus eigenmanni Myers 1927 -- (Ortega & Vari 1986:9 [ref. 9708], Malabarba 1998:231 [ref. 23844], Malabarba in Reis et al. 2003:152 [ref. 27061], Barriga Salazar 2014:108 [ref. 35745] as cf. eigenmanni, Thomaz et al. 2015:Add. 5 [ref. 33893], DoNascimiento et al. 2017:59 [ref. 35633] but missing species, Meza-Vargas et al. 2021:19 [ref. 39298]). Current status: Valid as Othonocheirodus eigenmanni Myers 1927. Stevardiidae: Diapominae. Distribution: South America: Amazon and Orinoco river basins (?Ecuador, Peru and Colombia). Habitat: freshwater.
