Distribution: Red Sea; Indo-West Pacific: KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa), Gulf of Aden, Comoros, Madagascar and Saint Brandon's Shoals (Cargados Carajos) east to Philippines and New Ireland (Papua New Guinea), south to New Caledonia. Habitat: marine.
