Holotype: SMF 7201 [not 7202]. Paratypes: MHNG 2201.23 [ex Géry coll. 0185] (2); SMF 7202 (1), 7203-06 (4). •Valid as Klausewitzia ritae Géry 1965 -- (Buckup 1993:102 [ref. 20831] apparently with wrong holotype, Buckup 1993:326 [ref. 26741], Chang & Ortega 1995:3 [ref. 24302], Buckup in Reis et al. 2003:92 [ref. 27061], DoNascimiento et al. 2017:35 [ref. 35633] without species ritae, Meza-Vargas et al. 2021:20 [ref. 39298]). Current status: Valid as Klausewitzia ritae Géry 1965. Crenuchidae: Characidiinae. Distribution: South America: upper Amazon River basin at border area between Brazil and Peru, also Colombia. Habitat: freshwater.
