Neotype designated by Bianco 1980:32 [ref. 20633]. •Synonym of Alburnus alburnus (Linnaeus 1758), but a valid subspecies -- (Coad 1995:11 [ref. 23608]). •Valid as Alburnus albidus (Costa 1838) -- (Bianco 1980:31 [ref. 20633], Mrakovcic et al. 1995:184 [ref. 23079], Lelek 1987:139 [ref. 22962], Oliva et al. 1988:216 [ref. 26137], Kottelat 1997:45 [ref. 22952], Fricke et al. 2007:29 [ref. 29533], Kottelat & Freyhof 2007:163 [ref. 29996], Buj et al. 2010:130 [ref. 30888], Lorenzoni et al. 2019:251 [ref. 37108]). Current status: Valid as Alburnus albidus (Costa 1838). Leuciscidae: Leuciscinae. Distribution: Southern Europe: Adriatic basin, Croatia, Italy and Turkey. Habitat: freshwater.
