adonis, Lepidarchus Roberts [T. R.] 1966:210, Figs. 10-11 [Stanford Ichthyological Bulletin v. 8 (no. 3); ref. 3769] Small stream east of Mpataba, Ghana, about 5°05'N, 2°35'W. Holotype: CAS-SU 63546. Paratypes: MRAC 154701-02 (2); CAS-SU 63460-61 (1, 1), 63462 (orig. 20, now 14 + 2 c&s); USNM 202502 [ex CAS-SU 63462] (1). Type catalog: Vari & Howe 1991:29 [ref. 19022]. •Valid as Lepidarchus adonis Roberts 1966 -- (Paugy 1984:173 [ref. 6183], Paugy in Lévêque et al. 1990:234 [ref. 21589], Paugy et al. 1990:337 [ref. 26477], Poll & Gosse 1995:139 [ref. 24781], Dankwa et al. 1999:20 [ref. 28023], Melo & Stiassny 2024:[21] [ref. 41653]). Current status: Valid as Lepidarchus adonis Roberts 1966. Lepidarchidae. Distribution: West Africa: coastal rivers of Ghana, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea. Habitat: freshwater.
