Type information: Hayashi 1995 [ref. 22717]. •Synonym of Abudefduf vaigiensis (Quoy & Gaimard 1825) -- (Allen 1991:235 [ref. 19344]). •Valid as Abudefduf caudobimaculatus Okada & Ikeda 1939 -- (Wibowo et al. 2017:[2] [ref. 35515], Wibowo et al. 2018:[2] [ref. 35945], Wibowo et al. 2018:2 [ref. 36662], Parenti 2021:40 [ref. 38418]). Current status: Valid as Abudefduf caudobimaculatus Okada & Ikeda 1939. Pomacentridae: Glyphisodontinae. Distribution: Indo-West Pacific: East Africa east to Indonesia, north to Ryukyu Islands (Japan), south to Lord Howe Island (Australia). Habitat: marine.
