Type catalog: Vari & Howe 1991:39-40 [ref. 19022], Oyakawa 1996:496 [ref. 23140], Provenzano et al. 1998:17 [ref. 24196]. •Valid as Serrabrycon magoi Vari 1986 -- (Taphorn 1992:324 [ref. 23654], Lima & Toledo-Piza 2001:1062 [ref. 25823], Lucena in Reis et al. 2003:156 [ref. 27061], DoNascimiento et al. 2017:62 [ref. 35633], see DoNascimiento et al. 2017:[13] [ref. 35679], Taphorn et al. 2022:19 [ref. 41297]). Current status: Valid as Serrabrycon magoi Vari 1986. Characids incertae sedis. Distribution: South America: Orinoco River basin (Brazil, ?Colombia, Guyana and Venezuela). Habitat: freshwater.
