Type catalog: Okamoto & Motomura 2021:356 [ref. 38068]. •Valid as Brachirus aspilos (Bleeker 1852) -- (Munroe in Randall & Lim 2000:646 [ref. 25122], Munroe 2001:3881 [ref. 26314] dated 1851, Hoese & Bray 2006:1845 [ref. 29000], Larson et al. 2013:226 [ref. 32988], Voronina 2019:423 [ref. 36809], Okamoto & Motomura 2021:355 [ref. 38068], Fujiwara et al. 2022:93 [ref. 39094]). Current status: Valid as Brachirus aspilos (Bleeker 1852). Soleidae. Distribution: Southeastern Indian Ocean, western Pacific: Indonesia and Singapore east to Philippines, New Ireland (Papua New Guinea) and Samoa, north to Amami Islands (southern Japan), south to Shark Bay (Western Australia). Habitat: brackish, marine.
