Current status: Valid as Platycephalus westraliae (Whitley 1938). Platycephalidae. Distribution: Eastern Indian Ocean, western Pacific: Java (Indonesia), east to Papua New Guinea, south to Fremantle (Western Australia) and New South Wales. Habitat: marine.
