Paralectotypes: MNHN B-2585 [ex MNHN 0000-3104] (5). Type catalog: Bertin & Estève 1948:62-63 [ref. 19574], Almaça 1969:1120 [ref. 20712]. Lectotype selected by Almaça 1969:1120 [ref. 20712]. •Synonym of Leuciscus leuciscus (Linnaeus 1758), but a valid subspecies -- (Lelek 1987:207 [ref. 22962] as hurdigalensis). •Valid as Leuciscus burdigalensis Valenciennes 1844 -- (Kottelat 1997:64 [ref. 22952], Kottelat & Freyhof 2007:205 [ref. 29996]). Current status: Valid as Leuciscus burdigalensis Valenciennes 1844. Leuciscidae: Leuciscinae. Distribution: France. Habitat: freshwater, brackish.
