Type catalog: Ferraris 2007:372 [ref. 29155]. •Synonym of Ompok bimaculatus (Bloch 1794) -- (Pethiyagoda 1991:154 [ref. 20075], Menon 1999:217 [ref. 24904], Ferraris 2007:372 [ref. 29155], Kottelat 2013:235 [ef. 32989] with question). •Valid as Ompok ceylonensis (Günther 1864) -- (Ng & Hadiaty 2009:55 [ref. 30458], Sudasinghe & Meegaskumbura 2016:270 [ref. 34695]). Current status: Valid as Ompok ceylonensis (Günther 1864). Siluridae. Distribution: Sri Lanka. Habitat: freshwater.
