Holotype (unique): BMNH 1854.3.21.30. •Valid as Brachirus cinerascens (Günther 1862) -- (Voronina 2019:423 [ref. 36809]). •Synonym of Brachirus orientalis (Bloch & Schneider 1801) -- (Kottelat 2013:464 [ref. 32989] with question, Desoutter-Meniger & Chapleau 2022:394 [ref. 40245]). Current status: Synonym of Brachirus orientalis (Bloch & Schneider 1801). Soleidae. Habitat: brackish, marine.
