Syntypes: MCZ 21264 (1), 21272 (2). •Valid as Triportheus curtus (Garman 1890) -- (Malabarba & Lima in Reis et al. 2003:157 [ref. 27061], Malabarba 2004:191 [ref. 28150], Meza-Vargas et al. 2021:20 [ref. 39298], Malabarba 2024:436 [ref. 40817]). Current status: Valid as Triportheus curtus (Garman 1890). Triportheidae: Triportheinae. Distribution: South America: Amazon River basin (Brazil and Peru). Habitat: freshwater.
