It is unclear if Castelnau's Monacanthus brunneus (p. 145) was intended as a new species separate from Monacanthus brunneus Castelnau p. 108; if it was, then Günther's daemelii probably should be regarded as a replacement name for M. brunneus on p. 145 (with a change in the type and type locality). •Synonym of Scobinichthys granulatus (Shaw 1790) -- (Hutchins 1977:57 [ref. 2283] with author as Shaw and species as damelii, Allen et al. 2006:1898 [ref. 29098]).
