Possible syntypes: ?BMNH 1863.12.11.81 (1) Java; RMNH 31192 [ex RMNH 6854] (6), 8069 (1). Type catalog: Ferraris 2007:325 [ref. 29155]. Roberts and Vidthayanon 1991:116 [ref. 19239] designated a neotype when several syntypes were apparently available from the Bleeker collection. Current status: Valid as Pangasius djambal Bleeker 1846. Pangasiidae. Distribution: Southeast Asia: Java, Sumatra and Borneo (Indonesia). Introduced in Yunnan (China). Habitat: freshwater.
