endrachtensis, Atherina Quoy [J. R. C.] & Gaimard [J. P.] 1825:334 [Voyage autour du monde; ref. 3574] Chiens-Marin, รก la terre d'Endracht [Shark Bay], Western Australia [apparently erroneous, probably New Guinea or Waigeo Island]. Lectotype: MNHN A-4385. Paralectotypes: MNHN A-4396 (1). Type catalog: Blanc & Hureau 1971:705-706 [ref. 21541] with syntypes. See Kimura et al. 2001:171 [ref. 25381] for remarks on type and locality; they suggest New Guinea or Waigeo. Apparently named for the presumed type locality Eendrachtsland or Eendraghtsland [the old Dutch name for Australia], and the name should have been spelled eendrachtensis or eendraghtensis; based on prevailing usage, the name endrachtensis can be used. If syntypes, then they are MNHN A-4385-86 (2). Lectotype selected by Kottelat 2013:286 [ref. 33989]; Not a holotype. •Valid as Pranesus endrachtensis (Quoy & Gaimard 1825) -- (Allen & Swainston 1988:40 [ref. 25477]). •Valid as Atherinomorus endrachtensis (Quoy & Gaimard 1825) -- (Paxton et al. 1989:356 [ref. 12442], Ivantsoff & Crowley 1991:495 [ref. 19162], Allen 1997:64 [ref. 23977], Larson & Williams 1997:351 [ref. 23967], Myers 1999:73 [ref. 23965], Ivantsoff & Crowley 1999:2123 [ref. 24783], Ivantsoff in Randall & Lim 2000:598 [ref. 25122], Kimura et al. 2001:168 [ref. 25381], Hutchins 2001:25 [ref. 25847], Allen & Adrim 2003:26 [ref. 26830], Kimura et al. in Kimura & Matsuura 2003:25 [ref. 27510], Randall 2005:78 [ref. 28239], Paxton et al. 2006:702 [ref. 28995], Allen & Erdmann 2012:159 [ref. 31980], Kottelat 2013:286 [ref. 32989], Yoshida et al. 2013:59 [ref. 34464], Fricke et al. 2014:37 [ref. 33932], Sasaki & Kimura 2014:3 [ref. 33189], Fricke et al. 2019:76 [ref. 36673], Allen & Erdmann 2024:175 [ref. 40796]). Current status: Valid as Atherinomorus endrachtensis (Quoy & Gaimard 1825). Atherinidae: Atherinomorinae.
