Type catalog: Whitehead & Talwar 1976:161 [ref. 23762]. Also appeared in Day 1876:299, Pl. 44 (fig. 7). Reasons for loss of ZSI type specimens during WWII see Chopra 1947:349-350 [ref. 33077]. •Valid as Sicyopterus fasciatus (Day 1874), but possibly conspecific with S. franouxi (Pellegrin 1935) -- (Stiassny & Harrison 2000:151 [ref. 25252]). •Valid as Sicyopterus fasciatus (Day 1874) -- (Maugé 1986:383 [ref. 6218], Sparks & Nelson 2004:4 [ref. 27700], Kottelat 2013:427 [ref. 32989], Keith et al. 2015:92 [ref. 34328]). Current status: Valid as Sicyopterus fasciatus (Day 1874). Gobiidae: Sicydiinae. Distribution: Myanmar. Habitat: freshwater, brackish, marine.
