Syntypes: AMS I.16426-001 [ex MAMU F1138] (11), AMS I.21374-001 [es AMS I.16426] (1). Type catalog: Stanbury 1969:210 [ref. 19518]. Objectively invalid; preoccupied by Tetrodon fasciatus Bloch & Schneider 1801. Original genus should have been spelled Tetraodon. •Synonym of Marilyna darwinii (Castelnau 1873) -- (Larson & Williams 1997:376 [ref. 23967], Ebert 2001:91 [ref. 25494], Hoese et al. 2006:1922 [ref. 29099], Larson et al. 2013:238 [ref. 32988]). 1°Homonym. Current status: Synonym of Marilyna darwinii (Castelnau 1873). Tetraodontidae. Habitat: brackish, marine.
