Original genus should have been Macrourus. •Valid as Paracetonurus fragilis (Garman 1899) -- (Iwamoto 1979:147 [ref. 2311]). •Valid as Asthenomacrurus fragilis (Garman 1899) -- (Iwamoto & Schneider in Fischer et al. 1995:1261 [ref. 22830], Castellanos-Galindo et al. 2006:195 [ref. 28944], Iwamoto & Orlov 2008:126 [ref. 29640], Nakayama 2020:17 [ref. 37888]). Current status: Valid as Asthenomacrurus fragilis (Garman 1899). Macrouridae. Distribution: Eastern Central Pacific. Habitat: marine.
