No types known. Original genus should have been spelled Tetraodon. •Valid as Tetractenos glaber (Fréminville 1813) -- (Hardy 1983:9 [ref. 5341], Kuiter 1993:421 [ref. 23929], Gomon et al. 1994:911 [ref. 22532], Kuiter 1997:414 [ref. 25488], Johnson 1999:755 [ref. 25471], Ebert 2001:79 [ref. 25494], Hutchins 2001:48 [ref. 25847], Matsuura 2001:3957 [ref. 26317], Hoese et al. 2006:1925 [ref. 29099], Matsuura 2008:855 [ref. 30661]). Current status: Valid as Tetractenos glaber (Fréminville 1813). Tetraodontidae. Distribution: Southeastern Australia: New South Wales to South Australia. Habitat: freshwater, brackish, marine.
