Lectotype: BMNH 1911.1.26.6. Paralectotypes: BMNH 1911.1.26.7-10 (4). Lectotype selected by Seegers & Tichy 1999:135 [ref. 23790]. •Synonym of Oreochromis alcalicus (Hilgendorf 1905), but a valid subspecies -- (Trewavas & Teugels 1991:308 [ref. 20954]). •Valid as Alcolapia grahami (Boulenger 1912) -- (Seegers et al. 2003:43 [ref. 28087]). •Valid as Oreochromis grahami (Boulenger 1912) -- (Trewavas 1982:12 [ref. 39521], Seegers & Tichy 1999:134 [ref. 23790], Ford et al. 2019:223 [ref. 36713]). Current status: Valid as Oreochromis grahami (Boulenger 1912). Cichlidae: Pseudocrenilabrinae. Distribution: East Africa: Lakes in Kenya and Tanzania. Habitat: freshwater.
