guentheri, Pelmatochromis Boulenger [G. A.] 1896:310 [Annals and Magazine of Natural History (Series 6) v. 17 (no. 100) (art. 49); ref. 14601] About 50 miles south of Mangala, probably at or near Monsembe, Middle Congo River. Holotype (unique): BMNH 1896.3.9.5. Supposedly secondarily preoccupied by Hemichromis guntheri Sauvage 1882 when both are in Pelmatochromis, replaced by Pelmatochromis lateralis Boulenger 1898. •Synonym of Tylochromis lateralis (Boulenger 1898) -- (Stiassny 1989:63 [ref. 20088], Stiassny 1991:528 [ref. 20964]). Current status: Synonym of Tylochromis lateralis (Boulenger 1898). Cichlidae: Pseudocrenilabrinae. Habitat: freshwater.
