No types known. •Questionably a synonym of Pisodonophis boro (Hamilton 1822) -- (Talwar & Jhingran 1991:86 [ref. 20764]). •Valid as Pisodonophis hijala (Hamilton 1822) -- (McCosker 1977:83 [ref. 6836], Smith & McCosker 1999:1669 [ref. 24715], Ji & Kim 2011:61 [ref. 31152], Kottelat 2013:47 [ref. 32989]). Current status: Valid as Pisodonophis hijala (Hamilton 1822). Ophichthidae: Ophichthinae. Distribution: Indian Ocean. Habitat: freshwater, brackish, marine.
