Neotype: ZRC 37472. Bleeker specimens: BMNH 1863,12.4.86 (1), NMV 46173 (1), Type catalog: Ferraris 2007:88 [ref. 29155], Ng & Kim 2008:23 [ref. 29920]. Appeared later in Bleeker 1846:154 [ref. 5872]. Kottelat et al. 1994 [ref. 26797] proposed the designation of a neotype, and the neotype was established in Opinion 1840. Current status: Valid as Hemibagrus hoevenii (Bleeker 1846). Bagridae. Distribution: Sumatra, Peninsula Malaysia and Borneo. Habitat: freshwater.
