Syntypes: ZMB 2693 (2, poor condition) coast of America, 33026 (1, left skin) no locality. Type catalog: Paepke 1999:126 [ref. 24282]. Regarded by Randall & Nelson 1979:211 [ref. 19975] as an inadvertent error for iserti; Bloch spelled the name as iseri three times in Latinized form, so one could argue that there was no inadvertent error. Later named Scarus croicensis by Bloch 1790.
