Syntypes: (3) BMNH 1912.3.1.21 (?1). •Synonym of Alosa fallax (Lacepède 1803), but a valid subspecies as described -- (Whitehead 1985:199 [ref. 5141], Lelek 1987:61 [ref. 22962], Quignard & Douchement 1991:254 [ref. 24829], Faria et al. 2006:301 [ref. 39548]). •Valid as Alosa killarnensis Regan 1916 -- (Kottelat 1997:39 [ref. 22952], Kottelat & Freyhof 2007:71 [ref. 29996], Coscia et al. 2013:1193 [ref. 37936] with question). Current status: Valid as Alosa killarnensis Regan 1916. Alosidae. Distribution: Western Europe: Killarney Lake (Ireland). Habitat: freshwater.
