kishinouyi, Lepidotrigla Snyder [J. O.] 1911:543 [Proceedings of the United States National Museum v. 40 (no. 1836); ref. 4152] Kagoshima, Japan. Holotype: USNM 68241. Paratypes: CAS-SU 21427 (1), USNM 74584 (1). Type catalog: Böhlke 1953:124 [ref. 12291]. The original spelling was kishinouyi but named after Dr. K. Kishinouye; usually seen as kishinouyei, but it is assumed that for phonetic reasons, Snyder chose the spelling kishinouyi. •Valid as Lepidotrigla kishinouyi Snyder 1911 -- (Ochiai & Yatou in Masuda et al. 1984:334 [ref. 6441] as kishinouyei, Lindberg & Krasyukova 1987:104 [ref. 15964] as kishinouyei, Richards 1992:62 [ref. 20654], Lee & Sasaki 1997:171 [ref. 25733] as kishinouyei, Nakabo 2000:609 [ref. 25086] as kishinouyei, Lee 2000:6 [ref. 25174], Shinohara et al. 2001:315 [ref. 25995], Nakabo 2002:609 [ref. 26001] as kishinouyei, Choi et al. 2003:254, 568 [ref. 26218] as kishinouyei, Shinohara et al. 2005:426 [ref. 28370] as kishinouyei, Kim et al. 2020:97 [ref. 39118], Sonoyama et al. 2020:48 [ref. 37637]). Current status: Valid as Lepidotrigla kishinouyi Snyder 1911. Triglidae: Triglinae. Distribution: Northwestern Pacific: Taiwan and China to Korea and Japan. Habitat: marine.
