Neotype: BMNH 1926.10.27.333. Type catalog: Ferraris 2007:123 [ref. 29155]. Original two syntypes were lost, Fraser-Brunner redescribed species in 1947:244 [ref. 13085] with a "holotype" which Weitzman 1960 [ref. 9613] designated as neotype; see Nijssen & Isbrücker 1980:197 [ref. 6910]. •Valid as Corydoras reticulatus Fraser-Brunner 1938 -- (Nijssen & Isbrücker 1980:197 [ref. 6910], Burgess 1989:367 [ref. 12860], Isbrücker 2001:234 [ref. 26805], Reis in Reis et al. 2003:302 [ref. 27061], Britto & Lima 2003:89 [ref. 27314], Ferraris 2007:123 [ref. 29155], Tencatt & Ohara 2016:[13] [ref. 34353], Tencatt et al. 2016:[17] [ref. 34388], DoNascimiento et al. 2017:73 [ref. 35633], Meza-Vargas et al. 2021:25 [ref. 39298]). •Valid as Brochis reticulatus (Fraser-Brunner 1938) -- (Dias et al. 2024:25 [ref. 41219]). Current status: Valid as Brochis reticulatus (Fraser-Brunner 1938). Callichthyidae: Corydoradinae. Distribution: South America: Amazon River basin (Brazil, Colombia and Peru). Habitat: freshwater.
